HelloHero!

UI Design
Why?
There was a given prompt that asked "What if there was a mobile application that let us schedule time with our favourite fictional characters?"

As a small pastime, the project to prototype such an application was started, named "HelloHero!"
The Project
HelloHero! is a mobile application that lets you browse fictional characters by genre and fictional work, read their personal biography, and book time to spend with them at a nearby city through a 4-step booking process.

Users can view daily features of fictional characters, browse newly added characters, save them to the favourites section for revisiting, and pay for time to spend with them in a tiered listing.
The Process
I undertook this project out of personal interest and to exercise my prototyping skills on Adobe XD.

It started with preliminary notes and sketches of the application: How would it work? What features were to be implemented into the application within the bounds of what is necessary? How would the user interact with these features, and how could this application be made easy to use?

I took influence from existing apps such as IMDB, various Wiki apps, and other related products, and sketched out a system where users can easily browse genres, starting as broad as books, movies games, to more granular detail such as sub-series within a larger series.

The call-to-action was a high priority in the character-scheduling process so I wanted to make sure the option to schedule a character was always present in the user's view whenever browsing characters' bios.

Adobe XD was used to make the high-fidelity prototype, showcasing the planned features through a specific character, placing heavy emphasis on the genre browsing and character scheduling experience.

This was a great UI Design exercise that I now look back on as one of my personal favourite projects.
